Hopping on a plane to cross the Atlantic might not be possible for everyone right now so we’ve rounded up some of our favorite American castles that you can stay in here!

Starting off our list is Glen Eyrie Castle in Colorado. Built in the 1800’s this lovely castle is set in the most pristine location, yet it’s still so close to Colorado Springs! Bedrooms and suites are furnished with antique furniture and art that fits the period of Glen Eyrie perfectly! There’s also onsite hiking trails, games, and even a ropes course if you’re feeling adventurous! This beautiful castle is worth a trip in and of itself but there is also so much to do nearby if you ever venture out of the grounds. Red Rock, Garden of the Gods and Pike’s Peak are all a short driving distance away!

Located in Kentucky’s own city of Versailles and on the outskirts of Lexington, this castle is every gothic architecture lover’s dream! Construction on this castle started in the 1960’s but with a divorce and then a fire in 2004, this hotel wasn’t finished until 2017. Is this an old crumbly structure? No. Have they fitted the hotel with every modern convenience while conveying that castle feel? Absolutely yes. This lovely castle offers just 13 private suites, each with luxury amenities. There’s lovely grounds and if you time your stay right, you can join one of their highly rated murder mystery dinners.

This amazing stone castle is located just 30 minutes north of New York City in the lovely Westchester region and famed Hudson River Valley. Perched on one of the highest points in the area, the castle boasts amazing views of the area and even better views inside! While this grand castle was started in the late 1800’s, the castle is decorated with many antique pieces including the paneling in their Oak Room originating in St Germain, France. The original owners were considered High Society so you can now stay and relax in the same spaces that entertained the likes of the OG J.P. Morgan, Andrew Carnegie, and plenty other VIPs. You can also get pampered like royalty in their amazing state of the art spa area or dine at their 2020 Michelin approved restaurant. With walking trails, onsite yoga classes, pool and more, you’ll never have to leave your dream of being king (or queen) of the castle.

Landoll’s Mohican castle is located equidistant between Cleveland and Columbus, deep in the heart of the beautiful Mohican lands. This castle is equally part natural wooded escape and fairy -tale castle. Opened in 2002, this castle started off a little rough but with the help of Gordon Ramsey they are now a highly decorated destination nestled in the Ohioan forest. They’re even added 14 new suites to give more guests room to stretch out their legs and relax. Many of the rooms boast lovely views from gorgeous balconies on their many turrets.
If you’re interested in more ghoulish activities, there have been many sightings on the property and the castle has even been featured on A&E’S Ghost Hunter show. If your thirst for interacting with the hereafter is not quenched by your hotel stay, you can book a ghost tour through their very haunted historic graveyard in September and October.

This gorgeous hotel was built in 1894 originally as a train station and depot. Even though its initial purpose was focussed on travel, the station initially had a hotel and restaurant inside. The lovely and massive station was converted in the last 1970’s into a hotel and then refreshed in 2010. With the current refresh, you’re getting that modern touch with the lovely stately castle feel and amazing stone facade. This hotel is now part of the high end Hilton Curio Hotel Collection with many areas still sporting their lovely moulding and original features. Their recently restored Grand Hall hosts guests for drinks and cocktails and even features nightly lazer shows. The hotel also boasts many onsite dining options and the location is right near the happening areas in Downtown St Louis. As Judy Garland might say, “Meet me in St Louis!”
